Virgo New Moon

its larger context

August 28, 2022

Normally, a New Moon is where you plant the seeds for something that will come to fruition in 2-weeks, 6-months or 18-months time. Most astrologers would consider the culmination to come in 6-months time. Sometimes, this new seed that is planted comes from you - you start something intentionally, you begin a new undertaking, you are the active side. Sometimes - destiny brings something into your life without you really having a say on the matter. Either way, this new element will complete a stage during the Full Moon in Virgo on the 7th of March 2023.

And that's where it becomes interesting.

The things that will start around the New Moon in Virgo today, will complete a notable stage in their development in March of next year. March 2023 is when:

a) Saturn leaves Aquarius and steps into Pisces for the 1st time.

b) Pluto leaves Capricorn after 14 years in this sign and steps into Aquarius for the 1st time in 246 years.

c) Mars will finally leave the sign of Gemini after being there for 7 months.

Every time an outer planet changes signs, it is the beginning of a new era in our lives. So in some way this New Moon is connected to that new era due to start in March of 2023.

One way that this can play out is that whatever we start during this Virgo New Moon may have to be dropped because the new influences of Saturn and Pluto will force us to do some major course correction.

Alternatively, what we start around this New Moon, might feed into (sort of set the stage) for Saturn's arrival into Pisces and Pluto's arrival into Aquarius.

The New Moon takes place at 4 degrees of Virgo, exactly squaring Mars at 4 of Gemini. The corresponding Virgo Full Moon in March of 2023 will be trining Uranus. Take a look at where that falls in your chart. It is likely that something that starts in the Virgo area of your life is receiving an energy of friction from Mars but will end on a positive note with regard to the Uranian changes going on in your Taurus sector.

At any rate, this Virgo New Moon is interesting because the classic 6-month lunar cycle is exactly intertwined with larger transits such as those of Mars through Gemini, Saturn in Pisces and Pluto in Aquarius.
